This simple home made preserve can be stored up to a month when refrigerated. No artificial flavoring is used in this.
Ingredients:
Medium Sized Lemon: 7 or 8 cut in to small pieces
Sugar: 1 1/2 cup
Salt: 1 1/2 Tbsp.
Kashmiri Chilli Powder: 2 Tbsp.
Roasted Jeera Powder (cumin powder): 2 Tbsp.
Place the lemon & all the ingredients in a food Processor & grind it to a fine paste. Add about 10-15 ml of water to grind your lemon else the cooking time will be longer. Pour the ground mixture in to a non stick pan & cook over medium flame for about 5-8 minutes.
Remove from the flame once the water evaporates & your preserve thickens. Don't over cook it or else the sugar will cause crystallization. Cool & preserve in an airtight container. This goes amazingly well with rotis. pooris & bread & even dosas.
